Have BP, On Stamlo Beta 50. Medicine Should Not Take For Long Time Should Be Changed?

Dear Doc, I am 48 years old and having BP since last 20 years and taking Stamlo Beta 50. I do not have any problem so far. But suggestions some from all across that one medicine should not take for long and should be changed. I consult couple of doctors but they said that if it is not giving you any problem like swelling in leg, no problem.

Anti-hypertensive medication needs dose titration if the BP is not under control.It needs to be changed only if it cannot be tolerated or if its contraindicated.For example certain antihypertensives should be avoided in chest infection/asthmatics/diabetics so on and so forth.It really does not matter since how long you are taking the medication as long as you are doing well and comfortable.Treatment for hypertension is lifetime.Never miss/leave your pill.Hope this helps.
