My husband has what feel like small knots under the skin on his forearms, some on his upper arm, these appear and are not close together but random, they itch so much that at night he scratches them in his sleep and makes them bleed! Looks like someone was murdered in our bed, well that is an exerageration but anyway at one time a month or so ago he went to our MD got a round of steroids and it may have gotten a little better but not noticeably . What could it be?
