Has Cough While Eating Food. Advised Alaspan, Nutrol-M And Amcool Syrup. Purpose Of Amcool Syrup?
my father, age 87 ( nearing 88 ) has issues when eating food. He coughs ( irritation type cough ) when eating food or even drinking water. ENT specialist has examined and mentioned that the issue may be due mucous in his throat and advised Alaspan, Nutrol-M tablets. additionally the our GP has suggested Amcool syruph . Just wated to find out what is the purpose of Amcool syruph ?

the purpose of sypis it thins he mucus and it can be easily drained out
s sometimes the mucus is thick and it sticks and blocks the passages may be oesophagus or larynx cusing the problems
