Hard Painless Lump On Top Of Right Knee While Bending The Knee. Physically Active. Advice

Hi hope you can help me.
I have found a hard painless lump at the top right of my right knee. I noticed it when I was on holiday. It disappears when I straighten my leg then reappears when I bend it up. I am 34 years old, female, 5ft 10" and weigh approximately 14 stone. I do regularly exercise and run short distances frequently on the treadmill aswell as squating and lunging exercises....I'm not sure if this is related, but I thought I had better mention it also. Please can you advise? Thank you. Emma.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello

I would be pleased to answer your question .

Your lumps could be cyst within the skin , a lipoma or a patellar shift .
I would suggest that you should visit a Dermatologist who will examine the area and rule out the above differential diagnosis. Please do get it checked as it has been existing at the site for a couple of months as you have mentioned .

Thanks and take care
