Hard Lump On The Shin, Painful, Not Overweight. What Should I Do?

Hi, about 2 weeks ago i noticed a quarter size rock hard lump on my shin. I a not messing with it at all but its just now getting bruised and becoming painful. I am not into sports at all, definetly didn t hit my leg on anything and im not overweight .i have no health insurance and cant afford to pay cash and im freaking out . Any ideas?

Hi,
Thanks for writing to us. From the description provided, it seems it could be a boil. just do warm water compresses over the area and apply antibiotic cream. if very painful, take a pain killer like Brufen Another possibility can be erythema nodosum but EN lesions usually occur in numbers and not as single lesion.
If no resolution is seen, you might need to consult a doctor.
