Hard Lump On Face, Cheek Swelling, Mass Below Cheek Bone. Using Hot Compress. Due To Ingrown Hair?

I have a hard lump on my face that grew within a few days and made my cheek swell with pain, it has been a few days after applying a hot compress and witch hazel the swelling has completely gone however there is a hard grape sized mass in my cheek just below my right cheek bone. it appears to be shrinking daily but I am concerned as to what may have caused this? maybe an ingrown hair?

Thanks for the query.

You might have developed furuncle.

These are deep bacterial infections.

You are correct, it might appear due to ingrown hair.

Treatment is with antibiotics but the choice of antibiotics should be based on culture and sensitivity tests.
