Hard Inflamed Bump On Back After Wasp Sting. Applied Anti-bacterial Ointment. Help

Can a wasp sting cause hard inflamed bump to appear afterwards. My husband was stung we think by one a few days ago while mowing the lawn. He did not feel anything. A day or so later I noticed an enlarged inflamed bump on his upper back. He also complained of his back being rather sore but didn't recall bumpping into anything. I burst it last night and cleaned it out really good. This eleviated the redness and swelling somewhat, but this morning it was still slightly swollen and sore. I put an anti bacterial ontiment on it to help with the reaction. Can you please shed some light on this issue. Thanks Victoria.
