Hard, Big, Painful Pimples With Blood And Pus Discharge In Public Area. Using Soframycin. Prescribe Medication

Hi doctor
From last 2 to 3 months i have been getting big pimples in the pubic area. They are under skin and hard and big. It pains a lot. After 10 to 15 days it burst and blood /pusss comes out. I am applying soframycin cream. What could be the reason and what medication should i take

Hi Thanks for posting.

Seems to be bacterial infection, furunculosis i. e boils.

If i were your treating doctor then i would have put you on a course of oral antibiotics(Penicillin group/cephalosporin group) for a week. You can get a prescription for this from your local practitioner.

Also apply a topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin twice daily. Its available OTC

Use an Antibacterial soap for bath.

An OTC painkiller like ibuprofen would help in relieving the pain.
