Hallucinations, Hearing Voices. Given Advil, Methadone, Citalopram. Negative Drug Test. What Is Wrong?

my daughter started hallucinating a week ago ,she never did before , what is causing this, she is hearing things that only he hears, 4 das ago she swallowed a bottle of advil, she just got out of hospital today,,oh yeah, she is not taking any street drugs, drug test came back negative. she is on methadone for the past 3 yrs, and has been clean for 3 yrs.family doc put her on citalopram 20 mg on 7-12-13, dispensed 30 pills, as of sunday she still had 18 pills left,,was it the citalopram? if so , isn't it out of her system by now, she topped taking it last Thursday, doc that prescribed it told her to stop taking it? this is not my daughter!! what is wrong with her? what should I do? she is a good person with a 18 month old son that she adores... I need help, so I can help her, thank you..Vickie,worried mom.please help

I have gone through your question in detail.
Hallucinations can be due to various causes and yes psychiatric illnesses arethe commonest cause. If she is not on any street drugs then mental illness is the first possibility. She could have started a new psychiatric illness, an acute and transient psychosis. She certainly needs antipsychotics.
Citalopram may not lead to hallucinations and neither are they helpful in hallucinations.
