Had Unprotected Sex. Now Have Small Red Bumps On The Base Of Penis. Can It Be Treated With An Antiseptic?
Small red bumps 2 days after unprotected intercourse on the base of my penis. I have cleaned it thoroughly for two days and they do not appear to be going away.
I don't think they are warts because the development of warts usually comes 7-10 days after intercourse.
Can I try treating them use an antiseptic? Polysporin? before going to the doctor?
It is likely that you have a skin infection following the unprotected intercourse. Skin infection usually require adequate and prompt care in order to prevent spread and in order to control the infection.
If the red bumps become filled with pus or are filled with pus, you will need to drained it anddo thorough wound dressing.
Use of only antiseptic to manage the wound might not be sufficient. Antibiotics definitely will be needed both tablets and creams to effectively control the infection.
However, you might consider to see a doctor for better evaluation and management.
