Had Strep Throat. Have Canker Sore In Mouth, Swollen Gums And Cold Sore On Lips. What To Do?

Im the kind of oerson who doesn't really use cold or flu medicine, I think I had strep or the flu for about two days and it blew over, but now I have two canker soars in my mouth and a nice fat cold sore on my lip. my gums are swollen and sore but the swelling has gone down. Also, stuff that looks like plaque is coming from them. Should I go to a doctor? Or will this blow over

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding throat infection with swollen and sore gums and lips.

By your clinical history it appears that you are suffering from gingivitis along with sore throat. To make proper diagnosis and treatment you should do-

1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

2- X-Ray OPG.

3- scrap cytology from canker sore in mouth.

Beside above investigations a thorough examination of oral cavity and dental examination is necessary for deciding the line of action for management. Till these formalities are going on you may take-

1- Antiseptic mouth wash.

2- Boroglycerine to be applied locally.

I think this will solve your problem.

Regards.
