Had Knee Replacement. Have Elevated BP. Taking Narcotic, Aspirin

My wife had a knee replacement 12 days ago. Her recovery is progressing nicely with one exception. Yesterday her blood pressure was somewhat elevated and her pulse has been 100-120 for the last two days. An ER check found no evidence of a blood clot. She as been taking one 12-hour narcotic a day and aspirin for pain. Any idea what could be going on? Thanks.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The elevated levels of blood pressure may not be related to the pain killer and aspirin that she is taking. Anxiety , stress, increased salt intake can cause such changes in the blood pressure.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
