Had High PSA Level, Biopsy Report Was Benign. On Urimax, PSA Level Lowered Have Low Hearing And Vision

Hi Dr.
PSA level was 11-12 ng/ml. during April,2013. Age of Patient 69 years. His Biopsy was done and 14 samples from different locations were taken and the report was Benign. He was on URIMAX since then. The PSA values declined regularly and now it is 2.8 ng/ml.He is having few problems for last few days
1- the hearing power has slowed.
2.- The vision is declining
3- overall weakness.
My query is -
are these or any of the problems is due to lower PSA and/or due to Urimax.
are these due to age related problem.
pls advice what to do.
thanks and regards.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The symptoms that you are describing (weakness, decreased hearing, decreased vision) are not known side effects of the urimax or related to the level of PSA.

Decreased vision and hearing can occur with age but there is usually a gradual decline not an acute change over a few days.

Acute onset of these symptoms can be related to worsening of any ongoing chronic illnesses, infection, electrolyte disorder.

It would be best to take him to his doctor for an assessment. This would include history, physical examination and likely blood investigations.

I hope this helps
