Had Been Taking Insulin For Long Time. Took Human Mixtard50. Now Taking Novo Mix30. Not Helping. Medicament?
hi. my name is jagdish I am taking insulin from last 26 yrs.in india I take human mixtard50, but after coming to Ireland I find no human mixtard50. so my gp changed to novo mix30 but it not working as because after lunch sugar goes to maximum 20 , im taking 44 in the morning 40 in the evening im 42yrs old bmi is 23 hlp me what to do

If insulin mixtard 50 is not available and mixtard 30 is not helping in controlling the blood sugar with the maximum therapeutic doses then you can switch to
1. long acting insulin once daily like Glargine(at night) with short acting insulin with every meal.
(or)
2. You can add OHA like metformin with your present regimen which will help in insulin sensitization.
