Had A Heart Attack, Heart Muscle Was Damaged. Gave Treatment. Now There Is Restrictive Feeling In His Chest. Suggestions?

Husband had heart attack on 6 October 2012 and because the problems had apparently been building up without realising, his heart muscle was badly damaged. He has been hospitalised for a week around early April and is now much better but has a restrictive feeling in his chest, around the area of the sternum which makes him feel rather nauseous. He is waiting to see the hospital cariologist in a week or so and has had regular check ups with his own GP, but is just concerned about this ever present niggling discomfort. Should he be overly concerned please?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Dear Ma'm
Thanks for your query to us.
1. A continuous feeling ,lasting 24 hours a day, over chest is not likely to be anginal. A cardiac issue will be considered if his symptoms increase on walking/ exertion/ running or using stairs. In that case, see your cardiologist on priority.
2. A local issue is more likely if the discomfort is sensitive to touch/ pressure.
3. A combination with nausea may be pointing ot gastric upset with the newer drugs he has started since.
4. Please avoid unnecessary worry/ tension, as it is not good for him. Wait for your appointment and discuss. Had it been an emergency issue, your GP would have alarmed you.
Sincerely
