Ha Blood Pressure Dropped Too Fast From 170/110 Yesterday To 116/68 Today After Taking Metropol Tartrate?
Hi. Yesterday I went to see my dr to get medical clearance for total hysterectomy scheduled for 4/7/14. He did not give clearance because my blood pressure was 170/110. He put me on metropol tartrate 25mg 1/2 tablet twice a day. Took tablet last night and at 9:30am this morning pressure was 122/70 and again at 2:30pm it was 116/68. Has pressure dropped too low too fast? Home now and legs are very swollen and the pain In them is unbearable. Should I take another dose before bed? Am I overreacting? What could be causing such pain?

HI
Thanks for posting your query.
Well your pressure came down bit fast but I down think that is causing your leg to swell or the pain.
You can take the night dose also as the duration of action of the medicine will be for 12 hours and if you skip the night dose your morning blood pressure may shoot up. So kindly take the night dose.
Regarding the leg swelling and pain, I recommend you to take Combiflam . It could be due to muscle cramps which shall go off in a day .
Hope this information was useful to you. Any clarification feel free to ask .
