Getting Severe Spinal Headaches, Legs Weak. Stent Placed In Abdominal Aorta. Is Something Wrong ?
Hi,
I had a stent placed in my abdominal aorta three weeks ago. A week after the procedure I had to have a blood patch done as I was having severe spinal headaches. Three weeks later the headaches are gone, but my back seems to kink up almost every day and then my legs seem to get weak, as if I completed 75 squats in 5 minutes. I there something wrong?

The Aortic Stent is unlikely to cause back pain and leg weakness.
This can be from other causes like spasm of the back muscles.
The aortic stenting would actually increase blood supply to your legs and make you feel better.
An embolic event like dislodgement of a plaque which occludes an artery distally can cause an ischaemic pain in your legs.
You need to see a doctor and have your feet pulses evaluated to confirm normal blood supply and rule out any procedural complication.
A Doppler Ultrasound to confirm stent patency can also be done to rule out any blood clots inside the stent.
