Hi,

Noted your history and understood the concerns for a 24 year old girl residing in a hostel means having mess foods outside of home.
Gastritis means there is inflammation of stomch lining with pain, burning and so on.
There can be associated GERD causing pain in chest.
Gastroenteritis means there is associated loose stools, bloating and so on.
Hence Iw ould advise you the following:
Since you are staying in a hostel you need to make a list of foods and beverages that suit your stomach and intestines and does not cause any problem. Continue with these.
Also make a list of foods, beverages and factors that caused you the problems and stop these altogether.
Also take an antacid and a PPI like Omeprazole.
Avoid hot and spicy, oily foods.
Take soft bland diet.
If these do not help it is better to go for the follwoing tests.
Tests of stool: routine, microscopy, H Pylori test.
Tests of blood.
Ultrasonography of abdomen.
Upper GI Endoscopy.
All these help to get any other associated diseases that can be treated specifically.
Drink boiled for 20 minutes and cooled water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
