General & Family Physician Dr. Vasudha's  Response
Hi,
The exposure cold producing common cold is ususally viral in origin.
The frequent recurrence & association with runny nose, difficult breathing& cough indicate involves of sinuses, throat following the cold.If the nasal secretions/expectoration is yellowish ,it is due to secondary infection
Apart from allergy, viral infections it suggests less resistance. To avoid it-
Avoid exposure to cold.
-routinly clean your nasal passage by vapor inhalation, saline gargles as well as breathing exercises (Anulom- vilom Pranayama)
- start anti allergic decongestant pill with first sneeze
- have healthy life style to improve resistance. Include Proteins, vitamins (spcially vitamin C,A ) in diet., exercise regularly.
_Consult a ENT doctor for specific treatment & excluding possibility of deviated nasal septum
Thank you.
