Fractured Tibia And Fibula Of The Same Leg Where Rod Was Placed. How Long Will It Take To Heal?

Hi Have got a fractures on right leg tibia and fibula. Some years ago had fracture on the same leg and a rod had been placed through an operation.that rod has not been removed till now.one screw of rod had separted from the rod.Now i have again fractured the same leg.8 weeks have passed doctor had put long plaster 8 weeks back at the site of fracture.20 days back doctor was saying that because rod is there we dont want the rod to bent so no movement for another 20 days.2 days before we showed the doctor again. He says it is healing but not healed completely now you should put your full weight on the led so the bones come together and bind.font know how much safe this logic is.Please advise.

Hello,The best person to say how much weight is to be put on the affected leg is the doctor treating you.Without physically examining or seeing the the X-rays it is not possiblle to say anything.
