Thank you for the query.

Foul smelling stools, gas and belching are most likely caused by intestines infection. Due to recent stomach bug, your good intestinal bacteria have been destroyed and bad bacteria have colonized intestine. Please note that intestines are covered with bacteria which are extremely important for proper bowels function. This bacteria protect us from bacterial, viral and fungal infection.
In your intestine, bacterial infection has become chronic.
So stool test and stool culture test are advisable in your case. Please ask your doctor about Rifaximine treatment. Probiotic supplementation should be started as well.

Hope this will help.
