Question is related to
Psychologist 's  Response

There are many reasons for Alzheimer, two of the most important being age and genetics.Vitamin deficiency is also one of them.
The other reasons could include emotional stress, brain tumors or injury, sleep deprivation, hyperglycemia, hyperthyroidism, Kidney or liver problems, dehydration etc.

Before reaching to conclusions, you need to check out certain signs and symptoms.Forgetting things and having tension should not necessarily be Alzheimer's,. This could also be a temporary state of mind because of any stressful situation.
You need to check if some of these symptoms of alzheimers are present in your mother

-Forgetting family members names
-Difficulty in meeting everyday needs and completing familiar household chores
-Confusion about places and time.
-Not able to recognize certain visual images
-Misplacing things and not able to remember back.
-Change in mood and personality

If you think she is facing most of these troubles then probably it could be alzheimers.
If not it could be just a state of dementia.

Do check with a psychologist or psychiatrist. They will for sure conduct some tests on memory, have a brief talk with her to understand if there is any stress-or or any other physical troubles you arent aware of.There are many drugs to treat the initial stage of alzheimers.

Most importantly as a family member, do give her maximum support and care so that she could easily cope up with her present state .

Hope this has helped you.
