For years I had a nail fungus on my big toe nail. That has finally been cleared, but worrying about it, I neglected the overall condition of the nail. Now I have an ingrown toenail that I have tried to cut when it became painful. I've been able to relieve the pain (so far still minor) by cutting the nail back as far as possible and more deeply into the ingrown part. I can feel by pushing my fingernail under the cuticle that the nail is much deeper than it should be and know I won't be able to 'self fix' the issue much longer. Suggestions as to treatment, please.
