For How Long Should Cough Medicine Be Given To Children ?

My 7yr old son had cold. No fever . Feeling great now but stuffy nose and working cough. I can tell its not whooping cough but wonder whats normal for length of time after to still have the cough. Should I still give him cough Med. Been giving at night onlytriamenic long time cough. . He does sleep through night and not giving a night time Med just

hi jennifer,
triamnic is good enough but please give it at night also. it sounds like more of allergic cough only. let him take steam inhalation for atleast 2 or 3 times a day. try to prevent exposure to any allergens like smoke, dust or cold foods. it might take a while for it to clear probably a week or so.
