ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello and welcome to HCM,

Your father seems to be suffering from a problem which we call the trismus and also tonsillitis. You need to do these as soon as possible and let me tell you there is no medication in any system of medicine which can cure the problem. You need to think seriously about intervention methodology.

1. There are different causes for trismus which can be infective, spastic, infiltrative so you need to consult an ENT/ dentist who can examine and Scan the area to get a treatment strategy.

2. The treatment depends on the cause but you may think in terms of local infiltration of steroid, placental extract and may be even definitive surgery which are quite a few in number

3. For the tonsillitis you need to consult your ENT as soon as possible so that a proper permanent treatment can be obtained which can range from medication to even tonsillectomy.

4. Remember that chewing tobacco and areca nuts or supari or pan masala is the leading cause of trismus so make sure he does not take any of these.

take care and get well soon
