Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Female 55 yrs. Whet to the E.R with pain in early January. Scan showed 4mm stone in my ureter just above my bladder. 3 weeks later urologist did ultra scan and said it had not moved since the E.R. scan. He said if I had not passed in it 2 weeks he was going in and get it. He told me they caused pain when they were stuck. I told him I had not had any pain since the E. R. visit. He said it was a calcium stone because he could see it on the ultra sound. I never went back. I strained my urine for 2 months and then quit doing it. For the last couple of weeks I have a twinge of pain in my side but it is only about a 2 on the scale 1-10. It does not last but few minutes and kind of a burning sensation.sometimes I fell a little nausea. I think it is still there. I do not have the down time for surgery and have never had any procedures before. I do not want to have surgery if it is not absolutely necessary. How do I know if it is necessary? Can I just leave it there? Can I do anything to move it along or break it up. What will happen if I just leave it.
