Fell Of Horse, Swelling, Unable To Grip, Discomfort Between Thumb, First Finger. On Painkillers. Advise?

10 days ago i fell off my horse and landed on my right hand. All fingers are working and I can bend my hand up but down is painful still, unable to grip or hold anything heavy. Some discomfort in the v between thumb and first finger which was where the initial swelling was. Have been wearing tight bandage around thumb and wrist and also started with painkillers but have since stopped them. Fingers look still swollen but wrist looks ok. Should I be patient and expect it to take longer to heal or should I have a plaster caste on do you think?
So grateful for your assistance.

Welcome at HCM.

I have read details of your question.

I shall advice you to have a x ray of your hand.This can be a fracture.In this case best will be to have a plaster slab for support & healing.You should consult to a orthopedic doctor for this.

Do cold water fomentation or fomentation with ice cubes which are wrapped in a plastic bag.

Take a good analgesic like advil for relief.
