Experiencing Nose Bleed & Noticed Blood In Saliva

Hey. For the past few months when I'd wake up and go tl the bathroom I would spit in the sink and notice blood in it. And when I would brush my teeth sometimes, it would also bleed. And once when I dranked a soda. I recall when it first started however I did have a nosebleed, it was my first nosebleed. I usually do not get them and so far it was the only one I gotten. I've also had discomfort, but on occasion. It isn't very persistant. I also have some red bumps in my throat, I don't feel them and I wouldn't of known they were there if I hadn't of checked. I do recall, having a strep throat a month or two before these symptoms started. It did get better when I was constantly drinking water and once when I had taken a ibuprofen before bed, but the red bumps were still there. However I dranked a soda one night, and it started up again and now I haven't dranked soda, but the problem is still there. I feel fine beside these, but recently my mood has been kind of up and down. For a few days, maybe a week, I'll be kind of down and depressed, but then then for awhile I'll feel like my normal self, then back down. Thyroid problems do run in my family. I would appreciate all the help I could get. Plus, I'm agoraphobic and going to a hospital isn't the first option for me, so any remedies that you could reccomend to help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms first of all I would like to assure that that seems nothing very serious and you can very much relax.

Blood on spitting saliva that is also evident on brushing teeth is due to infection and inflammation of gums known as GINGIVITIS leading to gum bleeding and for this you should consult an Oral Physcian and get evaluated and Scaling of the teeth and area around the gums followed by antibiotics, painkillers and gum paint can help in resolving infection and bleeding.

Nose bleeding that happened only once can be due to rupture of any small blood vessel which can occur due to trauma or injured vessel while nose picking and it is also not serious as it never happened again and needs no treatment..

The last part of your question is that red bumps in throat.
See, one bump n each side of the throat is present and it is a lymphoid structure known as Tonsil and it is a normal structure and if it is not causing any discomfort it might not be swollen and due to anxiety you are finding it abnormal..
But in case if it is swollen, consulting an ENT expert and getting evaluated and if the tonsils are infected antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicine and warm saline gargles will relieve.

If you further have queries and want to discuss in detail you can visit my profile and click on Ask me a question and a direct question will come to me where you can further discuss in detail and also have follow up questions.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
