Episodes Of Elevated Heart Beat, Dizziness And Nausea. What Is The Reason?

Lately I have been experiencing random fast heart beats. I will be relaxing or watching tv and my heart will begin to beat/pump really fast and hard, I can see it beating just by looking down and it feels like I can feel my heart all the way in my throat . I get kind of dizzy and shaky and almost nautious. This can last for up to an hour, if not longer. What s going on??

Hi,
You may be experiencing episodes of SVT. This is where your heart randomly beats too fast.
I suggest you see your doctor who may wish to do an EKG. In the meantime you could try reducing your caffeine intake as this can sometimes cause attacks.
Regards,
Dr K A Pottinger,
MBChB FRCA
