Elevated Blood Pressure. Family History Of Heart Disease. Anything To Worry?
my 40 yr old son is always worried about his health because heart diease runs in his fathers side Yesterday he took his blood pressure at a machine in wallmart and was alaarmed because ir was 160 over 90. TodAY HR ROOK IT AGAIN AT THE SAME PLACE AND THIS TIME IT WAS 190 OVER 100.
HE HAS HAD GOOD BLOOD PRESSURE UNTIL LATLEY .sHOULD WE BE OVERLY CONCERNED
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. First blood pressure reading was 160/90 mm of Hg. Second reading was 190/100 mm of Hg. Age is 40 years. Family history of heart disease. All these above mentioned symptoms ( findings or factors ) are suggestive of heart disease. At the age of 40 years , high blood pressure ( diastolic i.e. lower one 90 , 100 )is concerning. Your son need to investigated with E K C & echocardiogram to isolate the case. I would recommend your son visit a cardiologist at the earliest and & sort out the problem. Good luck . Dr. HET
