Electrical Burn On Hand, Tingling, Sore. Healing Time?
Hi, yesterday i put a plug into an out light and it blow up in my hand. The DR said i got electrical burn on my hand. im still filling tingling in my whole arm, and it gets sore extremely easy when i stop resting it. my fingers stings when i tough an object. I'm wounding if this is normal and how long will it take for the pain to upsides.
Electric burn, depending on its severity, can involve superficial skin, deeper tissues and even hand's nerves.
Superficial skin burns will take 7-10 days' time to heal; it will take longer (2-4 weeks) if deeper tissues have also been affected. But, if nerves have been involved, it will take a few months for the nerves to heal. If they have been destroyed, then I am afraid, the nerve injury is permanent.
Daily dressing, suitable antibiotics for an adequate period to suppress infection, if any, in the burnt site; and, daily cleansing and dressing of the wound with antiseptic ointment will hasten the healing. A course of anti-inflammatory pain-killers, such as, combination of ibuprofen+paracetamol will reduce pain and swelling.
