Due to the cold weather, the skin over my knuckle closest to my nail cracked. It seemed to be healing but the cracks exactly across the knuckle, still won't heal. I have put Mela-gel and triple antibiotic ointment to it and covered it with band aids and let it air dry, but it doesn't heal or it reopens very easily. It is swollen from the knuckle to the nail bed and is now very itchy with some small bumps that have formed directly below the knuckle and on the back of my hand. Could it be infection? What should I do?
