Dry Lips, Red Rashes, Small Blisters. Treated With Hydrocortisone. Is It Related To Having Cold?
My 9 year old daughter ha suddenly developed very dry lips and then a Kool-Aid stain like red rash above her top lip ,the rash has not spread but is not getting much better small blisters appear at times, treating with hydrocortisone cream relieves temporarily. Ideas what could be, she has not been ill otherwise, had a slight cold prior to this but that is gone.
Hi and thanks for the query, It might be difficult to associate such symptoms to cold. Treatment of skin diseases is very much dependent on an appropriate diagnosis. Get the child examined by your doctor first. Inappropriate treatment at times, like treating a bacterial infection or viral infection with steroids could aggravate the condition in some circumstances. I suggest a proper clinical review by your doctor to take appropriate action, It is difficult to admit that the rashes came as a result of cold. Thanks and kind regards
