Dry Cough With Head Ache And Bloodshot Eyes. Prescribed Benzonatate. How To Manage Headache And Red Eyes?

I have had a dry non productive cough that occurs during waling hours only for three weeks...have been prescribed benzonatate to reduce the coughing. I also do the honey tea but every time I cough my forehead feels like its going to explode and my eyes are very bloodshot. Is there anything I can do to stop the pain/red eyes from the coughing?

HI
If I would be your doctor then I would suggest you not to take any symptomatic medicine for cough unless we the know the underlying cause of this, symptomatic treatment in case of cough wont help any more instead it can create some other problem, any longstanding cough should be brought to investigation, and the x-ray study of chest is the first thing to do, so think of that, have nice day.
I find this answer helpful
