Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

It is not uncommon to develop Arthrofibrosis (adhesions) in few patients who undergo total knee replacement (TKR). The resultant effect will be limitation of range of movement.

Generally, Manipulation under general anesthesia is done in less than 6 weeks of time from the date of surgery. It will then yield better results.

If it has been more than 6 weeks, then an Arthroscopic release of adhesions and joint lavage is indicated.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
