I would recommend you to have frequent small amounts of food during the day and avoid food 4 hours before bedtime. Also, avoid drinking plenty of water before bedtime. This will reduce the amount of fluids that go up to your throat (the reflux).
Also, you should avoid alcohol,
smoking, and coffee as these make
GERD worse. You may raise the head of the bed with bricks to reduce the reflux at night.
Avoiding certain foods that make the symptoms worse is advisable as well.
You will need to keep a healthy weight (BMI between 20 and 25) as
overweight may make GERD worse.
If these are not helping enough you will need to be seen by your doctor.
