Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can I go swimming after I have been diagnosed with vertigo of unknown origin. Potential causes are neck muscle strain or inner ar inflammation. Most of the day I m fine except sudde changes in movements. I am able to go swimming but now I m wondering if I could make it worse if water gets in me ear. I wear a tight bathing cap with straps but occasionally water gets in.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Better to avoid swimming because this can precipitate vertigo. Swimming pool water is full of organisms. So chances of inner ear infection is more and hence risk of vertigo is also more. So better to avoid swimming for 1 month. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
