Does Using Nebulizer With Albuterol Cause Pain And Burning Sensation In The Chest?

I have been using a nebulizer with Albuterol in it for about two weeks and I am experiencing chest pains and burning in my chest with very light activity. I have had two by-pass surgeries, have a pacemaker and currently am being treated for A fib. Could the Albuterol be contributing to this problem?

Hi,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
Albuterol nebulization is a well-tolerated drug and is not supposed to cause such side effects as you have mentioned. You should dilute the Albuterol respule in 5ml saline for nebulisation, the burning will come down if it is due to Albuterol. Maybe you are having some chest infection or oesophagitis or acid peptic disease that is causing such symptoms.
You should also get an ECG and cardiac status checked because rarely cardiac problems also present in this way.
I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you.
Take Care!
