A high count of epithelial cells in the urine is an indication that something is wrong with one or more areas of the urinary tract, but in order to determine where, it is necessary to determine what types of epithelial cells are present in the urine. Proper identification of the cells is highly important in order to receive the proper treatment. Also, the few mucus threads are present normally in urine, If they are present in large amounts then this means there is some underlying infection in any part of the urinary tract. To notice bacteria is a clear indication that you have an underlying infection (UTI). Taking antibiotics will help you the infection, I suggest you take ciprofloxacin 250 mg twice daily after food for 5 days. After 7 days , get another urine test done .
