Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain if he has got his top tooth removed due to abscess and also another tooth next to it is also getting abscessed and needs removal then as he has already turned 5 years of age, then it is about an year or more in which his front permanent teeth will start erupting as upper front teeth erupt by the age of 7-8 years..

But by that time to maintain proper space for the teeth to erupt and the adjacent teeth do not drift in the empty space created due to extraction of tooth, you need to get a space maintainer for your son..

It will help in preventing misalignment and impaction of teeth and help in proper eruption and functioning of permanent teeth..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
