Does The Staphylococcus Aureu Bacteria In The Abdomen Needs Treatment?

My doc took a stool sample and results showed Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureu bacteria present. She prescribed Bactrim which I had an allergic reaction to. But before I try another antibiotic can you please tell me if these intestinal bacteria can go away on their own without using and antibiotic???

Hello,
Thank you for your contact to healthcare magic.
I understand your health concern, if I am your doctor I suggest you that Staphylococcus aureus is the commensal flora or normal flora of the gastro intestinal tract. Some times they may isolate as pathogenic bacteria but it requires clinical correlation. So if it is clinically suspected than it requires a treatment. Though they do not spread buy infection cause by them are localised and serious.

I will be happy to answer all your future concern.
Thank you,
Dr Arun Tank
