These are the results from my two-year-old's CBC. Does any of this look like a concern? He was diagnosed with ITP in November so his platelets have been low since then, ranging from 4,000 to 150,000. Hello and welcome to HCM,
ITP is characterized by low platelet counts.
Acute ITP is commoner than chronic ITP and majority of cases are caused by viral infections.
Acute ITP resolves spontaneously usually within 6 months.
Treatment consists of steroids.
Thus, platelets level has to be monitored regularly.
The other blood parameters show that hemoglobin, hematocrit are within normal range.
The MCV, MCH and MCHC are reduced and thus suggest microcytic hypochromic anemia.
In children lymphocyte count is high and neutrophil is low and this is a normal finding.

Thanks and take care
