Hi, some home heating oil (kerosene) has spilled in our boiler house which is attached to the house. For the last three weeks we have been able to smell the fumes throughout the house, but especially in the living room. Can you tell me if these fumes pose any health risks?
Kerosene smoke can lead to breathless, nausea, vomiting and severe respiratory problems. But the amount required to cause these symptoms are very high and are rarely faced in normal accidental exposure. In your instance as u have mentioned only small quantity has been leaked, there is no major risk factor as of now. But observe your family members if they complain of any respiratory digficulty and approach a hospital immediately if so
