Does Taking Lamisil For Foot Fungus Cause Joint Pain?

I have been prescribed Lamisil for foot fungus. I have been taking it for 7 out of a 14 day prescription. I am experiencing more joint pain since starting, especially in my right thumb joint. I see that many folks are prescribed a much longer treatment. Are my symptoms normal and will I need to take more than a 14 day treatment?

Hi,

Persistent fungal infection for a long time can cause pain in the joints. This can be related to low levels of calcium and vitamin D3 also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Praveen Tayal,
Orthopedic Surgeon
