Does Taking Gabapentin And Ibuprofen Cause Numbness On The Tongue?

In 2016 I was involved in a fire where I sustained 2nd & 3rd degree burns on my feet, shins, ankles, right arm & back. I was prescribed gabapentin along with ibuprofen and a pharmacopeia of other RX. I whittled down the RX to gabapentin & ibuprofen. I was switched over to Lyrica, but after a year decided to go back to gabapentin. I take 900mg of gabapentin along with 800mg of ibuprofen 3x daily. Recently (within the last week) I have lost some sensation on the right side of my tongue and some taste... Is this just a side effect or could there be another reason?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It's fine to take non-prescription painkillers like paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin with gabapentin.
I dont think that your symptoms are related to this combination of drugs.
I suggest you to consult a neurologistand do a physical examination .

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
