Does Taking Deplin Or Abilify Lead To Positive For Opiates In Drug Test?

I recently showed up positive for opiates on a U.A. I had just gotten over a bad sore throat bacterial infection,& was prescribed a Z-Pak (azithromycin 250mgs). 3 weeks before my UA, I had been put on Delpin 15mgs once daily. A few days before my UA, I also began treatment with 10mg of Abilify. Could.any of these be responsible for me being positive for opiates?

Hello,

None of the above medication causes a positive opiate effect.
1) Z Pak is an antibiotic used to treat respiratory as well as gastro intestinal infections and acne
2) Deplin is a food supplement used to treat megaloblastic anemia and depression. It contains l-methylfolate and algae s powder.
3) Abilify is Aripiprazole which is an anti psychotic drug, used to treat bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, major depressive disorder.
None of the above is an opiate. So these drugs aren't responsible for U.A positive for opiates.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
