Does Taking Betnesol During Pregnancy Reduce The Chances Of Normal Delivery?

hello doctor, my wife is in 36 weeks of pregnancy and her doctor gave her 1 shot of betnesol in her 32 weeks and 1 in 36 weeks citing it is for lung maturity. i would like to know whether this will reduce the chances for normal delivery as we are planning for normal delivery? after the shot in 36 weeks baby movement is reduced in womb what does this means?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Betnesol does not have any effect on type of delivery, it is not known to prevent normal delivery. It helps lung maturity & prevents possibility of eosinophilia disease of lung in newborn. Normally in 36 weeks fetal movements reduce because of its decent in pelvis, so when the fetal heart sounds are normal. You should not worry about movements. At age of 36 possibility of LSCS increases due to maternal age. So be ready to accept delivery as it comes.
