Does Taking Ativan Causes Memory Loss?

i used to take Ativan some nights to help me sleep, when I had a challenging day ahead of me. It always helped me stay focused. I have read that it might cause memory problems, which is something I definitely don t need. Would it still affect my memory if I only took it occasionally, like once a week?

Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

Ativan can cause memory loss in elderly population. The occurrence of memory loss is more if Ativan is used daily at higher doses.
Occasional use preferably at lower doses (1-2 mg/day) will not cause memory loss.

Hope this answers your question
