Does Swelling In The Testicle Go Down By Itself?

Hello, I squatted down and felt my pants tighten around my right testicle, it is swollen and a little sore. It is about the size of a large egg. This happened about 2 days ago. I can walk etc, haven't tried sex yet, Will the swelling go down by itself?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Can you please tell me more about it, What is your age? Did you have any trauma to the testis earlier? Do you have any pain in the testis? Do you have any fever?

Swelling in the scrotum may be due to fluid collection in it, leading to the feeling like the enlarge testis, or it may be due to swelling of the veins of the testis, varicocele.

An ultrasound of the inguinoscrotal region will tell us more about it. The swelling may go by itself by raising legs up while sleeping if it is a varicocele, or you can consult your general surgeon for it. You can take a painkiller if there is any, or Paracetamol to reduce fever if there is any.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. MD Aamir Sohail,
General Surgeon
