Hello,

Paxidep belongs to the SSRI group of anti-depressants. These are safe medicines with very little addiction potential. Stopping the SSRI can lead to depression which can return of depression which often manifests as sleeplessness, excessive tiredness, loss of initiative, sadness or as physical symptoms like headache. I may be able to help him with other medicines if you get back to me with full details of the stroke, his present status, any other disease like diabetes, high blood pressure etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
